Mugoša: The majority continues to collapse the parliament

The humiliation of the parliament by the majority continues... First, on Friday, the majority proposed a candidate for the position of member of the State Audit Institution (SAI), who then withdrew his candidacy on Sunday. Today, in a very questionable procedure, the majority proposed another candidate for the SAI in a re-vote at the Committee, who informed us a few days ago that he was no longer interested in the candidacy after all the events and relations in the Parliament.

This was stated by Boris Mugoša, president of the SD parliamentary group and representative of the European Union, in a post on the Iks platform.

The Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget today proposed to the Parliament to appoint Milan Popović as a member of the Senate of the State Audit Institution (DRI), after Predrag Radunović previously withdrew his candidacy.

Seven members of the parliamentary majority voted for Popović, while the opposition did not attend the vote. The search for a new senator is underway because the position in the DRI remained vacant after Zoran Jelić retired.

Of course, there was no dialogue between the majority and the opposition in this appointment process, he added.

"Out of my professional integrity and respect for the candidates who applied for the Public Call for a member of the State Audit Institution, I left the Committee session, not wanting to give legitimacy to such anti-democratic and anti-European processes," Mugoša concluded.
