The Executive Director of the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES), Ivan Asanović, was re-elected to that position today.
The decision to re-elect Asanović was unanimously made by the Board of Directors at a regular meeting in accordance with internal regulations and after a previously conducted public competition.
CGES said that, based on the evaluation of the company's work to date, the presented program and vision for its development, Asanović was elected executive director for a period of four years.
"In his previous term, Asanović achieved notable results in the area of business modernization, improving efficiency and strengthening partnership relations, thereby making a strong contribution to the stability and progress of the company," the company said in a statement.
The Board of Directors expressed its belief that, under the leadership of Asanović, CGES will continue to develop as a stable, innovative and socially responsible company, dedicated to further strengthening business results and relationships with employees, partners and the community.
Asanović said that it was a great honor, but also a responsibility, for him to once again be trusted to contribute to the development of CGES.
"The results we have achieved through working together show that consistency, dedication and professionalism are always recognized," said Asanović.
He thanked the Board of Directors for the support and trust they gave to him and the management during the previous term.
"We will continue to build CGES as an open, innovative and responsible company, focused on employees, partners and the community to which we belong," concluded Asanović.
Asanović was born in Podgorica in 1982. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro, where he earned the title of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.
He began his professional career in 2005 on international projects, and since 2006 he has worked at the Electric Power Company of Montenegro – FC "Prenos", where he performed key functions in the maintenance of substations and the implementation of significant investment projects, including the international submarine interconnection Montenegro-Italy.
From 2011 to 2019, he was the Head of the Secondary and Information Systems Department, participating in the improvement of the SCADA system and the implementation of EMS, and from 2021, he took over the position of Executive Director of CGES.
Asanović is actively involved in international ENTSO-E working groups, is a member of the Chamber of Engineers of Montenegro, and is the author of numerous professional papers in the field of electric power.
