Representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the aim of improving and encouraging closer cooperation in the field of intellectual property.
The aim of signing the Memorandum is also to raise awareness about the importance of intellectual property and alternative dispute resolution procedures in the field of intellectual property.
"The memorandum will enable the implementation of joint educational programs, the exchange of information on intellectual property, informing the general public about intellectual property law and its importance for the development of Montenegro, improving the application of alternative dispute resolution methods in the field of intellectual property, and reducing court costs and relieving the burden on the court system," the statement said.
The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Economic Development, Nik Đeljošaj, and the Executive Director of the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Maja Golović Vojinović.
Đeljošaj said that the signing of the Memorandum represents an important step towards strengthening the role of mediation in the field of intellectual property and raising awareness of the importance of resolving disputes involving intellectual property rights in this way.
"Through joint work, we will have the opportunity to provide expert support to legal practitioners and institutions to better understand the benefits of alternative dispute resolution in the field of intellectual property," said Đeljošaj.
Golović Vojinović emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development and the Center for the Promotion and Affirmation of Dispute Resolution in the Field of Intellectual Property through Mediation.
According to her, alternative dispute resolution plays a key role in a more efficient and fair justice system.
"This Memorandum will enable greater access to justice and our common goal is to make the legal system more efficient and accessible. Through education and promotion of alternative dispute resolution options in the field of intellectual property, we want to encourage the wider application of alternative dispute resolution methods in Montenegro," concluded Golović Vojinović.
