The Prime Minister's Office, regarding the claims of the leader of the Civic Movement URA, Dritan Abazović, about an alleged "secret contract" with the companies "Adriatic Properties" and "Aman", announced that the Government had not signed any document.
"Nor is this an 'exclusive', as the former prime minister wants to present it," the response reads.
It is true, as they said, that government representatives, "strictly taking into account state interests," are talking with representatives of the aforementioned companies, trying to find the best solution that will stop the arbitration proceedings in London, which could cost the citizens of Montenegro 100 million euros.
"Mr. Abazović, in the absence of attention, is apparently trying to present as an exclusive the draft with proposed solutions that has been appearing in domestic and regional media for some time," they add.
They say that Abazović, as someone who held the position of Prime Minister, should have known that the contract could not be signed until the Government, at a session, authorized representatives of state-owned enterprises and the Ministry of Economic Development to do so - "and therefore this procedure cannot be covered by a veil of secrecy."
"Therefore, we ask Mr. Abazović to stop misinforming citizens, and if the Government successfully completes the negotiations, we will be very pleased to inform the Montenegrin public," the response reads.
