The Ministry of Maritime Affairs will support all projects that contribute to better protection and easier communication with our seafarers, announced the relevant minister, Filip Radulović.
At a meeting with representatives of the non-governmental organization (NGO) Pomorci, he emphasized the importance of improving cooperation between the Ministry and the organization that works in the interests of seafarers.
"We will support all projects that contribute to better protection and easier communication with our seafarers. The goal is for every seafarer, wherever they are, to feel the security and support of their country," said Radulović.
The NGO Pomorci presented its plans, which include providing support to young seafarers working on ships under foreign flags, as well as domestic seafarers who need assistance with administrative procedures.
"Special focus is on the development of the online platform pomorac.me, which brings together seafarers and enables easier communication and access to information," the statement said.
Radulović said that the Ministry recognizes the value of these initiatives.
He particularly supported the initiative to develop a system of remote legal and medical support, as well as functionality on the platform that would allow seafarers in distress to send a signal to the competent services with one click.
