In the draft budget of the Municipality of Budva for next year, which is projected at a record 76,1 million euros, one million euros has been earmarked as a donation to the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral (MCP).
This is stated in a document that "Vijesti" had access to.
With this, the Mayor of Budva Municipality Nikola Jovanović kept the promise he made to Metropolitan Joanikije in November that the local government would give a million-dollar donation to the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) for the construction of the Church of St. Mark on the city bypass at the site of the chapel.
The Municipality of Budva and the MCP signed an agreement on the construction of the Church of St. Mark on November 11th.
The agreement was signed at the Cetinje Monastery by Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral and the President of the Municipality of Budva Nikola Jovanović.
The Municipality of Budva has committed to financing the development of complete project and technical documentation, the municipal equipment of the location, as well as to award a donation of one million euros to the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, which will be planned in the Municipality's budget for 2026.
