The Ministry of Public Administration and the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Digitalization, which, as stated by the MPA, confirmed the joint commitment to improving digital services, strengthening e-government, and creating a more favorable environment for economic development in Montenegro.
The Minister of Public Administration, Maraš Dukaj, announced that the signing of the Agreement represents much more than a formal document, emphasizing that it is a symbol of successful partnership, mutual trust and a shared vision of Montenegro as a modern, secure and prosperous society.
"The digitalization of public administration is not a goal in itself, but a means to more efficient, transparent and accessible services to citizens and businesses. With this agreement, we are creating a strong framework for the development of modern digital solutions, simplification of administrative procedures and improvement of the business environment," said Dukaj.
He stated that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro, as a key representative of the business community, has an irreplaceable role in the digital transformation process, highlighting the successful cooperation between the public and private sectors to date, including the active participation of business representatives in the working bodies of the Ministry of Public Administration.
The agreement covers key pillars of modern development, including digital transformation and infrastructure, development of digital skills and competencies, cybersecurity, interoperability and artificial intelligence. Through these areas, the foundations of a society ready for the challenges of the global economy will be laid, while strengthening Montenegro's position as a reliable international partner.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro, Nina Drakić, emphasized that digital transformation is one of the key prerequisites for strengthening the competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy.
"The Chamber of Commerce strongly supports initiatives that lead to the modernization of administrative processes and the reduction of business barriers. This agreement represents an important framework for concrete cooperation that will enable faster, simpler and more efficient services for business entities," said Drakić.
The agreement aims to intensify cooperation between public administration and the business sector through the exchange of knowledge and experience, the development of digital solutions, the encouragement of innovation, the implementation of European directives, the promotion of domestic ICT companies, as well as joint appearances at international fairs and forums.
"Special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of services of importance to the economy, improving the interoperability of information systems and strengthening the digital competencies of employees in the public and private sectors," the statement said.
The signatories of the Agreement agree that digitalization is a key factor in sustainable economic development and competitiveness, and that joint activities will contribute to the creation of a more transparent, efficient and user-oriented public administration.
"The Ministry of Public Administration and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro will continue cooperation through specific projects, initiatives and programs, with the aim of improving the digital transformation of Montenegro and creating conditions for stronger development of the domestic and foreign economy," the statement concludes.
