Ninety kilometers of roads across Montenegro were built and reconstructed last year, the Traffic Administration announced.
"During 2025, the Montenegrin Transport Administration implemented and launched one of the most intensive investment cycles in road infrastructure. Around 90 kilometers of main and regional roads were built and reconstructed across the country. The completed projects improved safety, flow and quality of traffic on key routes, including the reconstruction of the main roads Nikšić - Kuside, Rožaje - Špiljani, or the sections Rožaje - Most Zeleni, and Slijepač Most - Ribarevnine - Berane, as well as the construction of the main road Cetinje - Čevo, which formed a functional bypass around Cetinje and relieved city traffic. The Vrulja - Mijakovići road was also completed. Significant works were carried out in the north of Montenegro through the adaptation and reconstruction of the Andrijevica - Mateševo via Trešnjevik roads, as well as Slijepač Most - Pavino Polje - Trlica," the statement recalls.
They also point out that during 2025, the Traffic Administration repaired several landslides at critical locations in Dobrakovo, Polica and Provalija, thus "removing a multi-year risk to traffic safety."
"At the same time, safety in tunnels was improved by installing new lighting, including the Mogren Tunnel, while the pavement on a number of roads throughout Montenegro was renovated through investment resurfacing. Special attention was also paid to improving traffic signals at 20 key intersections, through the renovation of vertical and horizontal signals, the installation of new information boards and the improvement of the passive safety system," they added.
They also say that, in parallel with the completed investments, work has begun on a number of new and strategic projects in 2025.
"Among them, the construction of Vojislavljevića Boulevard in Podgorica, the reconstruction of the bridge on the Đurđevića Tara River, the rehabilitation of the Kruče bridge on the Bar - Ulcinj main road, as well as the reconstruction of the Bioča - Petnjica road and the Bijela Poljane - Riđani section in the Royal Capital of Cetinje, stand out. Previously initiated projects on the construction of the Tivat - Jaz Boulevard, and the Zaborje - Jasenovo Polje and Kamenicki most - Krute roads have also continued," they stated.
They said that the Transport Administration, by implementing the aforementioned projects, confirms its commitment to the long-term development of transport infrastructure, improving the safety of all traffic participants and strengthening regional connectivity, "with a clear goal - modern, safe and functional roads as the basis for economic development, tourism and a better quality of life for citizens."
