The value of realized payment transactions for 31 working days in December amounted to 3,38 billion euros, according to data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG).
Of that, 94,82 percent was realized in the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system, and the rest in the Deferred Net Settlement (DNS) system.
In the RTGS system, individual payment transactions between participants are performed on a gross basis in real time, and in the DNS system, interbank payment transactions are carried out on a net basis in delayed time.
"In December, a total of 1,64 million orders were processed in 31 working days, of which 40,13 percent in the RTGS system and the rest in the DNS system," the CBCG report states.
The average daily volume of realized payment transactions in the RTGS and DNS system, expressed through the number of orders, amounted to 52,97 thousand orders, while the average daily value of payment transactions amounted to 109,16 million euros.
In December, for 18,84 thousand minutes of production, there were no system downtimes, so its availability was 100 percent.
In May, the Central Bank of Montenegro launched a new generation of the national payment system – RTS/X, fully compliant with the international standard ISO 20022, which represents the most significant functional and technological change in the operation of domestic payment systems since its establishment in 2005.
