In the latest public opinion survey conducted by the Anti-Corruption Agency (AKS), for 2025, the Customs Administration (CA) of Montenegro recorded significant progress and was recognized as an institution that strongly strengthens integrity and professionalism.

This was announced today by the Customs Administration (UC).

According to them, the survey, conducted in December 2025, aimed to examine citizens' perceptions of the state of corruption in Montenegro, trust in institutions that fight corruption, as well as specific opinions about the work of the Agency itself.

"Citizens' personal contacts with corruption, experiences from the immediate environment, knowledge of reporting methods and citizens' willingness to report corruption were included. According to the results, the perception of corruption in the customs service has dropped to a record low - only 3,7 percent of citizens listed customs as a corrupt institution, which is the lowest result in the last three years. The Customs Administration thus took 10th position on the list, which represents significant progress compared to 2022, when it was in 5th place with 10,2 percent, i.e. the percentage of public opinion that perceives corruption as most prevalent in the customs service has decreased by about three times," the UC statement states.

They added that this trend confirms the determination of management at all levels to systematically and uncompromisingly oppose all forms of irregularities.

They also said that transparency in work, efficient control mechanisms, and continuous education of personnel have become the foundation of the modern customs system.

"Special emphasis is placed on cooperation with competent state institutions, with the Customs Administration consistently implementing a zero-tolerance policy on corruption, while constantly improving procedures and digitizing processes. This is confirmation that the strategic approach, commitment and determination to implement a zero-tolerance policy on corruption strengthen citizens' trust in the institution," the Customs Administration concluded in a statement.
