The tender for the concession of the airports in Podgorica and Tivat is bad for the state and should be annulled, a new tender should be announced, exclusively for Tivat, and the money should be used to reconstruct and improve the capacities of Podgorica Airport, which must remain state-owned, the Civic Movement URA announced.
This movement believes that it is not good for the state to cede the monopoly over air traffic to a private corporation, especially not for only 100 million according to the 2018 tender, when we know that due to extreme inflation, the value of money has devalued in the meantime.
"It is totally wrong to give a concessionaire the greatest economic asset that Montenegro has at the moment, after Elektroprivreda, for 100 million euros, the profit that Airports with this situation can make in five years," the statement from GP URA states.
If the Government makes a decision to grant a concession to the Airports of Montenegro, it will be another decision directed against the interests of the state and its citizens, they said.
"Instead of increasing our state assets and pouring money into the pockets of all citizens, this Government wants to sell off everything of value that Montenegro has for next to nothing, probably for the petty interests of a few individuals," the statement concludes.
