The total estimated value of projects implemented from the capital budget of Montenegro in Herceg Novi is 119 million euros, pointed out the Minister of Public Works Majda Adžović, during yesterday's visit to the Municipality of Herceg Novi.

The status of ongoing, capital infrastructure projects and future steps towards their implementation were the topic of her meeting with the Mayor of the Municipality Stevan Katić, the President of the Municipal Assembly Miloš Konjević, and the Secretary for Urban Planning and Construction Inspection Vladislav Velaš, the local government announced.

"The focus was on both new projects that were included in the 2026 budget, as well as ongoing projects - from the bus station that is being implemented, through the road infrastructure on Luštica, namely the Monte Rosa road route, as well as the water supply network on Luštica, but also the Olympic swimming pool that will be implemented on the principle of co-financing, and will be implemented by the Municipality and the Government of Montenegro, namely the Ministry of Public Works, then the Children's Department of the Igalo Institute, which will be converted into a school, and Španjola, which was also included in the capital budget," said Minister Adžović after the meeting.

Considering that the Government has approved the public procurement plan and program for 2026, the main topic of the meeting was an agreement regarding the dynamics of project implementation, Katić pointed out.

As he said, the meeting agreed on activities related to the completion of the bus station construction project, defined a plan for the continuation of the construction of road infrastructure on Luštica towards the border with the municipality of Tivat, and discussed resolving the issue of the construction and electricity supply of the water supply system on that peninsula. The topic was also the project to build a sewage system and a promenade to Njivice, in which Morsko dobro should be included as a partner, and which will be discussed in the coming days, the statement says.

"We have received information that the project for the old school in Srbina has been completed and revised, so we expect that a tender will soon be announced for the selection of a contractor for the school reconstruction project. We have also agreed on how we will define the agreement when it comes to financing the future Olympic swimming pool, which is certainly one of the largest projects that will be implemented in the next three years in the municipality of Herceg Novi," said Katić.

He added that the meeting also discussed other projects that have been recognized as being of public interest - the reconstruction of the Španjola fortress, as well as the reconstruction of the Kobila border crossing, which should also include the development of road infrastructure in that area.

"The interlocutors emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between state and local institutions, as a key prerequisite for the successful implementation of development projects," the statement reads.

Minister Adžović paid her first working visit to Herceg Novi yesterday, during which she attended the opening of the Day Care Center for Adults with Disabilities in Sutorina. After meeting with the leaders of the Municipality, she visited the "Dr Simo Milošević" Institute in Igalo, where they discussed further steps in the implementation of the project to reconstruct the Children's Department of the Institute and its conversion into a primary school.
