At the end of last year, the Pljevlja Labor Bureau registered 1.656 unemployed people, 120 fewer than in the same period last year. The number of unemployed people decreased by three compared to November last year.
Statistics from the Employment Agency, however, show that in the industrial center of Montenegro, every fifteenth resident of Pljevlja, which, according to the results of the last census, has a population of 24.542, is unemployed.
Of the total number of unemployed, 1.103 are women, or 66,6 percent. Almost every other unemployed person, or 719 of them, is over 50 years old, and 349 are between 40 and 50 years old.
The largest number of unemployed people registered were those with a fourth-level education (571), of whom 424 were women.
A large number of unemployed people also have a first-level education, or citizens without qualifications (454), almost two-thirds of whom are women. With a second-level education, or completed primary school, 55 people from Pljevlja were waiting for a job.
With a completed third level of education, employment was waiting for 365 citizens of the northernmost Montenegrin city. At the Labor Bureau in Pljevlja at the end of last year, 98 citizens with completed seventh one and seventh two levels of education and 94 of them with sixth level were waiting for a job.
Out of 98 unemployed people with a college degree, 67 are women.
Compared to the end of 2024, the number of unemployed university graduates decreased by almost six, while the number of unemployed people with a sixth-level education decreased by 15.
According to statistics published by the Employment Agency, every fourth unemployed person in Pljevlja has a disability. There are 427 registered unemployed people with disabilities, most of whom have a first degree.
In December last year, 68 job vacancies were advertised, 14 of which were for unemployed people with a university degree.
Last year, 596 unemployed people from Pljevlja who were registered with the Employment Service found employment, which is 28 fewer than the year before.
439 unemployed people registered with the Employment Agency were entitled to receive cash benefits, and they were paid a total of 96.669 thousand euros, or an average of about 220 euros.
At the end of last year, the Employment Service of Montenegro registered a total of 28.298 unemployed people, which is 390 fewer than in the previous month. Compared to the previous year, the number of unemployed people decreased by 2.439 or 12,45 percent.
Observed by educational qualification levels, the most unemployed people registered with the Employment Agency of Montenegro at the end of December were those with level I - 10.664, which is 1,36 percent less than the previous month, and 10,51 percent less than December last year. This is followed by the unemployed with level IV education - 7.054, which is 1,2 percent less than the previous month, and 15,43 percent less than December last year. With a third degree, 5.037 were waiting for employment, which is 15,5 percent less than December last year. There were 4.722 people with higher education (level VI, VII-1, VII-2 and VIII), which is a decrease of 1,6 percent compared to the previous month, and a decrease of 13,1 percent compared to December last year. The least number of unemployed people registered with level VIII education, or PhDs, was 14, seven less than December last year.
