The Municipality of Danilovgrad reacted to the claims of the executive director of "Naša Farma", Milorad Đonović, that the Municipality of Danilovgrad is hindering the solution to the problem of unpleasant odors.
"The allegations that the request for issuing urban and technical conditions (UTU) was rejected and that the investment was thus stopped are not true. Namely, the Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection of the Municipality of Danilovgrad, acting upon the submitted request, provided the applicant with a clear explanation and precise instructions on further steps that need to be taken to comply with the applicable legal procedures. Therefore, the request was not rejected, but rather the obligation to supplement and implement the procedure in accordance with the law was indicated," the Municipality of Danilovgrad announced.
They add that the Municipality's management initiated a meeting with representatives of "Naša Farma" Spuž, at which the procedures that need to be implemented in order to meet the conditions for issuing a UTU and implementing the planned investment will be explained in detail. By doing so, they claim, the Municipality has shown its readiness for open and institutional cooperation.
"From the very beginning, the Municipality of Danilovgrad has taken a constructive approach to solving this long-standing problem, with the clear goal of preventing possible environmental incidents and protecting the interests of citizens and residents of the affected area. It is unacceptable and unfounded to claim that the Municipality is "hindering" the resolution of the problem, especially considering the fact that the company in question only began a concrete procedure for a systematic resolution of the issue of unpleasant odor emissions after numerous findings and requests from the Municipality and the competent inspection bodies. When it comes to the initiative for the relocation of the farm initiated by the residents of Grba and Daljmo, representatives of the company "Naša Farma" have requested a multi-million-crore amount in compensation for its possible implementation, as well as finding a new location. Since the Municipality of Danilovgrad is unable to pay the requested amount or provide an alternative location, in order to find a permanent solution, it has addressed the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, and the Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Joković, with official letters for support, to which, however, it has not received any responses to date.
The Municipality of Danilovgrad announced that they remain fully committed to resolving this problem in accordance with the law, through institutional cooperation and with full respect for procedures.
"However, for an efficient and lasting solution, commitment, timely action and full willingness to cooperate on the other side are necessary. We call on representatives of 'Our Farm' to refrain from unfounded accusations and, instead of public name-calling, to start effectively solving the problem and jointly contribute to the legal and sustainable resolution of issues of importance to the environment and the quality of life of the citizens of the Municipality of Danilovgrad. The Municipality will further initiate the actions of inspections whose jurisdiction includes the work of 'Our Farm'," the Municipality of Danilovgrad announced.
