Today's comparison of fuel prices in Montenegro and the region shows that prices in Montenegro are significantly below the regional average, because neighboring countries have already made adjustments to stock market quotations through Regulations or through free price formation.
In Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, excise duties and VAT are far lower than in Montenegro, so even when they are adjusted to global price increases, their prices will be more favorable.

These prices in Montenegro are also subject to a new state levy of three cents per liter for mandatory reserves.
The data from the table indicate that it is not oil companies that generate higher fuel prices in Montenegro, but that they mainly depend on the level of state taxes.
"In order to maintain continuity of supply, the Government should now act responsibly towards the decisions that need to be made, which are the temporary reduction of excise duties and amendments to the regulation on price restrictions," a source from the industry told Vijesti.
