The Group of Oil and Petroleum Products Distributors of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro called for the urgent formation of a working body of representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance, the Customs Administration and distributors, in order to urgently establish a model for temporary fuel price formation in line with their daily growth at the global level.
This was announced today by the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (PCCG).
"Purchase prices of oil and oil derivatives on the international market, due to war operations in the Persian Gulf, are significantly above the maximum retail prices prescribed by the current Regulation in Montenegro. The difference between purchase and sale prices is increasing, creating financial losses for companies and disruptions in supply chains," the statement said.
In such conditions, as added by the PKCG, businessmen at the meeting held today said that the situation is unsustainable, and fuel purchases are not profitable, because in the long term they threaten the existence of companies.
"They believe that the situation can be resolved through a partnership between the economy and the Government, and by jointly finding a solution that would enable the uninterrupted supply of fuel to the domestic market, for the benefit of the entire economy and citizens," the statement concludes.
