Kolašin 1600 ski resort reopened

The state-run Kolašin 1600 ski resort has reopened, although the ski resort announced the end of the winter ski season last weekend. However, new snowfalls once again provide excellent skiing conditions and the continuation of the ski season, said the company Skijališta Crne Gore.

"The trails are being groomed, and the ski resort will be open as long as conditions allow. Over the next few days, ski passes will be 20 percent cheaper, and parking will be free," SCG announced.

By Sunday, March 15, when the season was initially closed, there were 64 ski days at the "Kolašin 1600" Ski Center.

The Director of the Ski Resort of Montenegro (SCG), Bojan Medenica, told "Vijesti" that the ski resort was visited by around 80.000 guests during the last season.

"More than 24.000 ski passes and around 4.500 panoramic ride tickets have been sold. We are aware that it can always be worse or better, but as long as we do not have a system for snowmaking the slopes, we have to be satisfied. We are preparing extensively for the summer season at the 'Kolašin 1600' Ski Center and are already thinking about the next winter season. We will welcome next winter absolutely ready, with all the problems that troubled us during the current season resolved, as well as novelties such as night skiing, snow-covered sections of the slopes and a glassed-in restaurant terrace," Medenica announced at the time.

The achieved result of 64 skiing days can be considered good, bearing in mind that last season there were many times fewer days when skiing was possible, and the year before that - none, due to a severe shortage of snow.

At the private ski center "Kolašin 1450", as announced on social networks, the skiing season is still ongoing.
