Yesterday's session of the Inquiry Committee to collect information and facts about the actions of state bodies and other entities during the construction of the wind farm on Možura exposed the essence that the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) has continuously pointed out, the party announced.
They believe that the Inquiry Committee is just a political platform and that government representatives "persistently create an atmosphere in which they play the role of judges and prosecutors" with the aim of criminalizing people who were part of the former government system.
"That essence was completely unmasked yesterday, because the government, in its vengeful mood, continues to exert inappropriate pressure on the prosecution in order to try to stop the growing rating of the Democratic Party of Socialists, which is causing fear among post-August 30 liberators in the pre-election year, through the issuance of political indictments," the statement reads.
They say that government representatives "are therefore resorting to untruths" when it comes to the economic effects of the project, which they present "in a pompous manner, thinking, I guess, that the public will believe in that theatrics."
"That the Možura construction project was harmful to the state economy is just as true as it is true that the Možura issue was addressed in the European Parliament Resolution, which the liberators did not submit for review yesterday, despite the insistence of DPS MPs. The fact that the state invested 0 euros, and that the value of the realized investment exceeds 90 million euros, best demonstrates how 'harmful' Možura is to the economy of Montenegro," adds DPS.
This is, as they said, a project that makes huge profits for the state and the Electric Power Company of Montenegro.
"More precisely, the municipalities of Bar and Ulcinj earn more than 600.000 euros per year from real estate taxes, and EPCG has earned more than 30 million euros so far. Finally, how 'bad' Možura is for the state and the state economy is also demonstrated by the fact that no government has terminated the contract after 2020," DPS points out.
They say they agreed to participate in the Možura Inquiry Committee to prevent "the abuse of the institution of parliamentary investigation and the dictation of political indictments."
"At the same time, we call on the competent authorities to investigate everything related to Možur, that is, to bring everything related to this business to light," the statement reads.
