Former workers of the "Bajo Sekulić" saltworks will block the Ulcinj - Bar road near "Kips" for two hours next Saturday at noon, it was decided at a workers' meeting held today in front of the gates of the oldest Ulcinj company.
The reason for the radicalization of the protests lies in the fact that the bankruptcy administration has owed workers around 900 thousand euros in unpaid wages and contributions for five and a half years of service for almost 16 years.
"Nine of our colleagues have since passed away. They have not received justice," said Saša Mitrović, a representative of the former workers' union.
The workers blocked the same road several times last year before the season. After that, they had several meetings with the government and relevant ministries, as well as the Parliament, but without results.
"What else needs to happen for the state to solve this problem?" he asked.
Solana has been in programmed bankruptcy since 2005, and in classic bankruptcy since 2011.
The last salt harvest was in 2013, and the workers' claims date back to 2009 and 2010.
