During the upcoming summer tourist season in the north, inspectors will place special emphasis on combating the shadow economy, including combating unregistered accommodation, undeclared labor, and illegal service providers.
At the initiative of the President of the Coordination Body for Harmonization and Monitoring of Inspection Supervision and Minister in the Government, Milutin Butorović, a working meeting was held with the President of the Municipality of Žabljak, Radoš Žugić, dedicated to the preparation of the upcoming summer tourist season.
Priorities in implementing the Action Plan for this year's season were discussed, with a special focus on the coordination of state and local inspection services.
"It has been agreed that during the main season, from July 1 to September 9, inspectors will work in five shifts, while teams stationed in Žabljak and Kolašin will cover all municipalities in northern Montenegro. In addition to stationary teams, mobile teams will also be deployed for faster response in the field," the statement said.
Participants emphasized the importance of increased supervision over entities involved in renting out accommodation, rafting, and construction sites, where inspection bodies will work in an indiscriminate and transparent manner.
Žugić informed the Coordination Body about the challenges that Žabljak faces during the tourist season, especially in terms of illegal business and pressure on local infrastructure.
It was agreed that continued cooperation between local and state services is key to improving the quality of the tourism offer.
