No one applied for the public call for storage and processing of surplus milk

To date, no company has applied to the Ministry of Agriculture's public call for the storage and processing of market surplus milk, which would be financed with 30 cents per liter, the government department announced.

"To date, no company has applied for the public invitation, nor has it requested an export permit, and the reasons should be sought in the processing industry," the Ministry said in a statement.

This public call from the ministry states that applications for this measure can be submitted until May 5th.

The government department said that the key problem is the fact that they did not receive information about the creation of surplus raw milk within a reasonable time, which is the result of the successful implementation of agricultural policy measures.

They called on the processing industry to apply for the invitation without delay and request the necessary permits, so that the surpluses can be processed in a timely manner in one of the countries in the region.

The Ministry issued a public call on Wednesday, and previously issued a decision to introduce a temporary market intervention measure in the raw milk production sector.

"The goal of this measure is to withdraw all surpluses from the market, process them in one of the countries in the region, and return them to the Montenegrin market in the form of long-life milk," the Ministry explained.

They recalled that it had been agreed at previous meetings that it was necessary to announce redundancies at least a month before they occurred.

"Despite this, the Ministry and the Food Safety, Veterinary and Photosanitary Administration used all available options, even though the problem was presented only two days before the meeting," the statement said.
