Mikijelj offered Jovanović financial assistance from the Coastal Zone Authority to unblock the Budva Municipality account.

The director of the Public Company for Coastal Zone Management, Mladen Mikijelj, sent a letter to the mayor of Budva, Nikola Jovanović, offering the state-owned company's help in overcoming the financial crisis in the tourism metropolis, which has left workers without salaries. This was confirmed to "Vijesti" by the Public Company for Coastal Zone Management.

The Municipality's account was blocked for 5,6 million euros after the forced collection of a final court verdict.

"Dear Mr. Jovanović, based on information from the media and informal conversations with employees of the Municipality of Budva, we are aware of the current situation and financial difficulties, especially in terms of paying salaries and settling other obligations towards employees. The fact that the Municipality of Budva, after ten years of liquid operations and publicly known information that the Municipality has 20 million euros of transferred funds in its account, with a record budget and record revenue collection, has run into liquidity problems is worrying," Mikijelj stated in the letter.

As he emphasizes, based on concern for the citizens of Budva and the necessity of regularly settling obligations towards them, especially socially vulnerable categories of the population, we express our readiness to help overcome existing problems.

"Specifically, as the Public Company for the Management of the Maritime Zone of Montenegro, we are ready to offer financial assistance in order to overcome the problems that you and the institution you manage have found yourself in. JP Morsko dobro, thanks to its good business results, is able to allocate part of the funds through a loan and thus help the Municipality of Budva overcome the liquidity crisis it has found itself in. As a state-owned company headquartered in Budva, JP Morsko dobro feels an obligation to help the citizens of the Municipality of Budva and its employees overcome the crisis. Cooperation with the Municipality of Budva has always been a priority for the Public Company for the Management of the Maritime Zone of Montenegro", Mikijelj emphasized and added:

"In addition, we are ready to help not only with liquidity problems, but also to offer certain funds for participation in infrastructure projects, since it is now certain that the Municipality will lack the funds to implement them. We are convinced that this would be a good example of cooperation for the benefit of the public interest and the well-being of Budva and its citizens, and a good example of municipal and state institutions. In this regard, we propose a meeting of representatives of JP Morsko dobro and the Municipality of Budva as soon as possible in order to exchange the necessary information and establish cooperation for the benefit of the citizens of Budva," Mikijelj concluded.
