Prices of personal consumption products and services, measured by the consumer price index, were 3,8 percent higher on average in April compared to the same month last year, according to Monstat data.
Consumer prices in April were 1,4 percent higher on average compared to March.
"The biggest impact on the monthly inflation rate was the increase in prices in the groups of fuels and lubricants for motor vehicles, vegetables, tuber vegetables and legumes, clothing, meat and meat products, other appliances, personal care items and products, fruit and nuts, household consumables, and accommodation services," the statement said.
Consumer prices in the period January-April, compared to the same period last year, were 3,1 percent higher on average.
Observed by main groups of products and services according to the purpose of consumption, in April, compared to the previous month, growth was recorded in the groups transportation by 6,1 percent, clothing and footwear by 1,4 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1,3 percent, furniture and routine home maintenance by 1,1 percent, restaurants and accommodation services and personal care, social protection and various goods and services by 0,9 percent each, recreation, sports and culture by 0,4 percent and alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0,2 percent.
A decline of 0,1 percent was recorded in the group housing, water, electricity, gas and other energy sources.
The prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
