The aviation authorities of Montenegro and France are improving professional cooperation, especially in the application of standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) announced.

The continuation of the partnership was formalized through an innovative five-year Agreement on Technical Cooperation in the Field of Civil Aviation, which was signed today in Marseille by the Directors of the Montenegrin CAA, Ivan Šćekić, and the French Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC), Chems Chkioua.

"Cooperation is focused on areas of particular importance for the development and strengthening of the civil aviation system, including air navigation, flight operations and aircraft maintenance, airports, airworthiness, oversight and quality management, training of professional personnel, aviation safety and sustainability of air traffic," the statement said.

The exchange of professional knowledge and experience, the organization of joint trainings and workshops, as well as the cooperation of experts in the application of international standards and ICAO recommended practices are envisaged.

The agreement, signed within the framework of the 166th meeting of the Directors of Civil Aviation Authorities of the Member States of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), confirms the joint commitment to improving the field and compliance with European and international standards in civil aviation.
