Green light for preparatory works on the second section of the highway from Mateševo ​​to Andrijevica

The government has given Monteput approval to carry out preparatory work on the construction of the second section of the Bar–Boljare highway from Mateševo ​​to Andrijevica.

That consent was adopted at Thursday's session.

The material states that preparatory works would begin immediately upon receipt of approval and would include fencing the construction site, construction of auxiliary construction roads for the construction of embankments and cuts, connecting the construction site to utilities (electrical, water and other), arranging the location for the delivery of materials, clearing the terrain, marking the construction site, removing bushes and trees, as well as excavation, loading and removal of earthen material.

The planned construction of this section is in accordance with the Spatial Plan of Montenegro until 2040.

At the end of February, the Monteput company signed a contract with the Chinese consortium "PowerChina - Stecol - PCCD" for the design and construction of the second section of the highway from Mateševo ​​to Andrijevica, worth 693.969.668 euros.

This route is about 23 kilometers long, and will be financed from the state treasury, through a 200 million euro loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a 150 million euro European Union grant.

The Chinese will have five years to complete the main project and build the second section of the Bar-Boljare highway, while they will also have two years to eliminate potential shortcomings in this work.
