Five applications were received for the competition for the selection of the Director of the Customs Administration

Five applications were received for the competition to select the director of the Customs Administration, it was unofficially confirmed to the Dan portal.

According to the latest data available online, four out of five candidates are employed by the Customs Administration.

The current acting director of the Customs Administration, Maja Vučinić, and the head of the branch, Siniša Raičević, among others, applied for the competition. He also applied for the competition held in 2023 and was ranked first, but Vladimir Bulajić was then elected director of the Customs Administration.

The report was also sent by the head of the Customs Administration, Miroslav Raonić, as well as the independent customs inspector for internal control, Gojko Kalezić, and the fifth person reported was Predrag Radovanović, about whom there is no information on the internet.

The current acting Commissioner Maja Vučinić participated in the work of four negotiating working groups for Montenegro's accession to the EU, namely Chapter 29 - Customs Union, Chapter 18 - Statistics, Chapter 30 - External Relations and Chapter 1 - Free Movement of Goods, as well as the Subcommittee on Trade, Industry, Customs, Taxation and Cooperation with Other Candidate Countries.

During Vučinić's term, confiscated tobacco was destroyed, which, as the government stated at the time, avoided damage of almost 200 million euros.

Vučinić has been elected as the acting director of the Customs Administration several times by the current government. She worked in the Customs Administration for ten years in various positions.
