Total revenues from games of chance for the first five months amounted to 19,96 million euros, which is 33,69 percent more than in the same period last year.
The Gambling Authority said that the result achieved in May is particularly noteworthy, when revenues reached 4,38 million euros, which is 81,83 percent more compared to the same month last year and confirms the continuation of positive trends in this area.
Observed by type of games of chance, the highest revenue was generated in the online games of chance segment, amounting to 8,7 million euros, with an increase of 41,68 percent.
"Revenue from slot machine clubs reached 4,58 million euros, representing an increase of 56,87 percent, while revenue from betting games amounted to 4,56 million euros, an increase of 12,63 percent. Revenue from casino games amounted to 2,07 million euros, representing an increase of 16,73 percent compared to the same period last year," the statement said.
The achieved results, as they explained, are primarily the result of improving the regulatory and supervisory framework, as well as more efficient collection of legal obligations.
"The achieved revenue growth confirms that the measures implemented as part of the reform of the gaming sector have yielded concrete results. The implementation of the Law on Gaming has contributed to improving the regulatory framework, strengthening supervisory mechanisms and greater transparency of operations, creating conditions for more efficient revenue collection and stable growth of budget revenues," the statement added.
At the same time, the full functionality of the Gaming Authority's information system has enabled further improvement of supervision over organizers.
"Thanks to the stable and reliable operation of the system, as well as the complete connection of all organizers, more efficient monitoring of business and financial flows in real time has been ensured, which has contributed to more precise recording of business activities, greater efficiency of control and collection of legally prescribed obligations," the statement states.
The Gaming Authority said that good coordination and close cooperation with the Ministry of Finance represent an important segment of the implementation of Government policies in the field of gaming.
Through joint activities aimed at improving the regulatory framework, digitalizing processes, and strengthening institutional capacities, conditions have been created for further improving the system and preserving positive trends in revenue collection.
"The Gaming Authority continues to improve the supervision system and strengthen the transparency and stability of the gaming market, with the aim of preserving positive trends and further growth in budget revenues," the statement concludes.
