Radulović: Maritime authorizations are now acquired through electronic exams

The exam for acquiring maritime licenses will be conducted electronically starting this month, announced the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Coordinator of the Ministry of Transport, Filip Radulović.

He said that the Ministry of Maritime Affairs is thus striving to fully harmonize the Montenegrin maritime system with the most modern international standards prescribed by the STCW Convention.

According to Radulović, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs is working dedicatedly on the modernization and digitalization of the system.

"The reform represents an important step towards an efficient and modern approach to developing an entrance test, but it also aims to increase the transparency of the objectivity of assessment when testing candidates," said Radulović.

The Ministry's statement states that the first digital exams are scheduled for June 15th at the Port Authorities of Bar and Kotor, for qualifications in the fields of nautical (STCW II/1 and STCW II/2) and marine engineering (STCW III/1 and STCW III/2).

"The Ministry of Maritime Affairs has prepared a database of sample questions aligned with international regulations, which can be found on the Ministry's website, so interested candidates can familiarize themselves with the new exam format in order to take the exam more confidently," the statement says.
