Almost 15 million euros will be invested in infrastructure projects in the municipality of Pljevlja through works that are already underway or will begin in the coming months, the mayor of the municipality told "Vijesti". Dario Vranes, emphasizing that the city is entering one of the most intense investment cycles in recent years.
"We have a major investment momentum ahead of us and the determination of the local government to make Pljevlja a more modern, functional and beautiful place to live. 4,5 million euros will be invested in rural roads this year. A tender has been announced, and the asphalting of 65 kilometers of roads is planned. The company 'Lokalni' putevi is already making preparations for asphalting 10 kilometers of the road towards Bobovo," said Vraneš.
The asphalting plan for 2026 covers 24 local communities, and the bulk of the work will be carried out in the areas of Bobovo, Kosanica, Zabrđe, Bukovica, Krupice, Maoče and other villages.
When it comes to the city area, a contract has been signed with the company "Bemaks", so the asphalting of city streets, worth more than 700.000 euros, will begin in June.
"The works will be carried out in coordination with the district heating project, in order to avoid subsequent digging of streets and ensure efficient management of resources. As part of these works, the main roads in the settlements of Gradac and Šula will also be asphalted," said Vraneš.
4,5 million euros will be invested in rural roads.

The Municipality has also installed new lighting in front of the branch and main elementary schools in Srdanov Grob, Boljanići, Mataruge, Vrulja and Kosanica," said Vraneš.
He reminded that the asphalting of the plateau in front of the Holy Trinity Monastery was completed a few days ago.
During June, work will begin on installing thermal facades on several residential buildings.
"This project will include the Department Store building, the building near Patriarch Varnava Square, as well as the building above Žitoprodukt near Breznica," said the Mayor.
Significant funds will also be directed towards improving water infrastructure.

The water supply system project in Kosanica (Pušanjski Do, Kutuša, Bitine) is also ready, which will solve the issue of water supply for 117 households. The Municipality has already nominated this project, worth around 500.000 euros, to the Ministry of Agriculture," explained Vraneš.
Special attention is paid to the construction of sports and recreational facilities.
"The sports fields in Potrlika, an investment of 178.000 euros, and the children's playground near the Mine Building have already been completed.
