The Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić, held a series of bilateral meetings during which she presented Montenegro's tourism offer, current development projects and opportunities for improving international cooperation in the field of tourism.

Kordić is participating in the 126th meeting of the UN World Tourism Organization Executive Board in Toledo.

At a meeting with the Minister of Economy and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdullah bin Touk Al Mari, satisfaction was expressed with the substantive and developed contractual relations between the two countries, which currently include around 20 signed agreements, including those in the field of tourism.

"During the talks, possibilities for further improving tourism and investment cooperation were discussed. It was assessed that it is in the common interest of over 160 members of the World Tourism Organization that leading countries, including Montenegro as the chairman of the Commission for Europe, work together to transform and strengthen the organization," the statement said.

Kordić also met with the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, Gao Zheng, with whom she discussed further improving cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the friendly relations between Montenegro and China were confirmed, characterized by mutual respect for development commitments and priorities.

"There was also talk of preparing a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of tourism, with the expectation that the document could be signed on the sidelines of the upcoming Europe-Asia Forum in Montenegro," the statement said.

During the meeting with the Minister of Tourism of Indonesia, Widijanti Putri, the importance of investing in the education of tourism personnel was discussed, with a special focus on knowledge of foreign languages ​​and preparing employees to work with tourists from different markets, which are characterized by specific cultural patterns, needs and habits.

"The interlocutors assessed that, as countries that base a significant part of their development on tourism, Montenegro and Indonesia have a mutual interest in exchanging experiences and best practices in this area," the statement concluded.
