The Tax Administration and representatives of the accounting profession agreed today that the active/inactive status will not be published until June 30th, and that all cases submitted and possibly unprocessed by then will receive a temporary "in progress" status.
This was announced after a working meeting between representatives of the Tax Administration and representatives of a group of accountants and employees in the accounting profession, who had previously addressed the public with an open letter.
The statement states that the Tax Administration and representatives of the accounting profession agreed that it is necessary to provide users, via the portal, with a list of necessary documentation for all business processes maintained with the Central Register of Business and Other Entities.
As it is added, both parties agree that communication between the institution and the profession should take place through formal, transparent and equally accessible channels to all users, and that regular working meetings will continue, with the aim of timely identifying and resolving problems in practice.
The statement states that it has been agreed that all institutions of the system must, as soon as possible, provide a system solution for accepting electronically signed documents and harmonize their operations with the current Law on Electronic Identification and Electronic Signature.
The Tax Administration confirmed at the meeting that it monitors the functioning of the IRMS system on a daily basis and that reported technical difficulties are recorded and resolved. In cases where delays or omissions occurred due to objective technical circumstances beyond the taxpayer's control, it will act individually, carefully and in accordance with the law.
As stated in the statement, the Tax Administration also confirmed that it will continue to strengthen customer support and improve communication with the profession through formal and transparent channels, and that work is underway to establish direct data exchange between institutions, thereby reducing the need for physical verification of documents.
Representatives of accountants confirmed that specific cases and problems have been submitted to the Tax Administration for further action, and that they understand that a stable and electronically based tax environment is in the common interest of the profession, the economy and the state.
"The Tax Administration and representatives of the accounting profession call on all stakeholders, businesspeople, accountants and taxpayers to implement the system responsibly, patiently and legally, with the belief that joint efforts lead to a stable and efficient tax environment," the statement concludes.
