Čarapić's "logic": Accused the opposition of alarming the public about the diesel price increase, which was announced by the Government

Europe Now Movement MP Vasilije Čarapić accused the opposition of "alarming the public all day long that diesel would increase in price by 14 cents," even though the new fuel prices were officially announced today by the Ministry of Energy and Mining.

This announcement was followed by reactions from some opposition officials.

And Čarapić's post on the X network was retweeted by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, even though the government department he heads informed citizens about the new prices today.

He also said that he hoped "that not many people ran to fill up with gas after the announcement by DPS MP Oskar Hutter."

Huter, guided by the price announcement officially announced earlier today by the Ministry of Energy and Mining, calculated the new price of diesel after the price increase.

"Last Sunday +9, as of tonight another +14. Bad for citizens, but great for the government budget. A reservoir full of lies and promises," Huter wrote in a post on the X network today at 12:41 p.m.

The government announced this evening at around 9:20 PM that it had made a decision to temporarily amortize the expected increase in retail fuel prices through the correction of excise taxes.

Thus, citizens, who received an announcement about fuel price increases from the government department today at around 11:15 am, were informed ten hours later that there would be no price increase after all.

Čarapić made his statement tonight at 10:45 PM, stating that citizens who followed Hutter's advice "paid more for fuel today than they would have paid for it tomorrow or any other day of the week."

Criticism of the opposition was expressed by another PES official, Boris Pejović.

He wrote on the X network that "opposition colleagues and activists close to them tried to cause panic, probably counting on them to politically profit from the crisis that is affecting the entire world."

The government announced tonight that after the decision was made, diesel will cost 1,65 euros from midnight, instead of the expected 1,81 euros, while the price of gasoline will remain unchanged, instead of the expected jump of seven or eight cents per liter.

And the Ministry of Energy has informed that even the Government knows how to make mistakes, and announced this evening that it will increase the price of Eurosuper 95, albeit only by one cent. Heating oil has increased in price by 12 cents.
