The Secretariat for Social Affairs of the Municipality of Budva has issued a public call for the award of subsidies for the repayment of housing loans in the monthly amount of 300 euros, for a period of ten years.
The local social housing plan, adopted by the Municipality, allocated about half a million euros in the budget this year for all types of subsidies.
In this way, the city government, led by Nikola Jovanović, is fulfilling the promise from its political platform "For the Saving of Budva" in the run-up to the election year, around which an informal coalition has gathered, consisting of representatives of the political group "Budva Our City", the Democratic Party of Socialists and the European Union.
As stated in the invitation that "Vijesti" had access to, the right to a subsidy can be exercised by a Montenegrin citizen with permanent residence in the territory of the municipality of Budva for at least three consecutive years, provided that he does not own, co-own or jointly own a residential building in the territory of Montenegro.
It is also a condition that the members of the family household do not own, co-own or jointly own a residential building in the territory of Montenegro, and that the applicant or any of the members of the family household have not sold, donated or in any other way alienated a residential building in the territory of Montenegro in the previous three years.
Married or unmarried couples are eligible to apply if one of the spouses or partners is not older than 40 years of age, as well as a single parent or individual who is not older than 40 years of age on the date of publication of the public call.
As it is emphasized, only Montenegrin citizens with permanent residence in the territory of the municipality of Budva for at least three consecutive years or foreign citizens with approved permanent residence in the territory of the municipality of Budva for at least ten consecutive years have the right to apply.
One of the conditions is that the applicant or any member of the family household has not sold, donated or otherwise alienated a residential property on the territory of Montenegro in the previous three years.
It is also a condition that the applicant or any member of the family household does not own, co-own or jointly own a residential building in the country of origin.
Also, as stated in the public call, the total monthly income of a family household must not exceed the amount of two average net salaries, which, according to the latest published data from the Statistical Office Monstat, amounts to 2.066 euros.
As stated, a subsidy for the repayment of a housing loan will not be granted to an applicant for the purchase of a residential property owned or co-owned by a person who is related to at least one member of the family household in a direct blood relationship, i.e. who is his father, mother, grandfather or grandmother, in a collateral blood relationship, i.e. brother or sister, or in an in-law relationship, as a parent of a marital or extramarital partner.
Subsidized housing loans, as emphasized in the decision, are granted to a young family who, in the year of the public call or in the year preceding it, was approved by a commercial bank for the purchase of a residential property or the construction of a residential property.
The application deadline is the end of August.
As a reminder, Jovanović's administration also made a decision on subsidies to cover part of the costs of rent, or subletting.
The public call for these subsidies has not yet been announced.
The decision on subsidies for tenants stipulates that the Municipality will approve 300 euros per month to cover part of the rental costs, for a period proportional to the validity of the lease agreement, and no longer than one year.
"The deadline may be extended for a period of up to ten years from the date of acquisition of that right, in accordance with the Municipality's budgetary capabilities," the decision states.
