In a coordinated action by the Tax Inspectorate and economic crime inspectors, at least three swimming pools have been closed on the Velika Plaza in Ulcinj in the last few days due to observed irregularities in their work, "Vijesti" has learned from several sources.
According to the same information, work has been banned until further notice for the tenants of the "Toni Grill", "Europa" and "Imperijal" swimming pools.
The newspaper's interlocutor from the Association of Ulcinj Beach Tenants said that, among other things, the inspectors allegedly determined that not all invoices had been typed and that there were undeclared workers, along with previous unpaid debts.
He also stated that inspectors confiscated the mobile phones of some of the tenants for further checks.
According to unofficial information, two of the three tenants whose swimming pools were sealed by inspectors are not Montenegrin citizens, while the third one is in a joint business with our citizens.
A "Vijesti" reporter found umbrellas without deck chairs on the "Toni Grill" and "Europa" beaches, which were arranged in several places, and closed catering facilities.
On the "Imperial", deck chairs and mattresses with canopies were arranged in the central part, while on the other part of the beach, bathers used beach furniture.
At the "Evropa" beach, security tried to prohibit a "Vijesti" reporter from taking photographs, even though he explained to them that it was a common and public good owned by the state, and that they were only tenants of that space.
"You can't take photos or film here," they said despite the clarification.
"Toni Grill" and "Europa" have been long-time holders of the prestigious "Blue Flag" award.
