Ministry of Tourism: We condemn threats and pressure on tourism inspectors

The Ministry of Tourism has announced that it will not tolerate any threat to the safety and dignity of tourism inspectors while performing their official duties.

"The Ministry of Tourism provides full support to tourism inspectors who, especially during the summer tourist season, have an increased workload and responsibility in monitoring compliance with regulations and protecting the interests of tourists, citizens and the tourism industry. Inspection supervision is a demanding and responsible job, which involves daily field work and dealing with various situations," it was announced.

They spoke out about the attack by Chinese citizens on tourism inspectors in Žabljak.

They emphasize that any form of threat, pressure or violence against tourism inspectors and other officials performing their duties must be taken seriously.

"The Ministry of Tourism stands behind its inspectors and will not tolerate any threat to their safety and dignity while performing their official duties. We are all obliged to make a full contribution to ensuring that the tourist season runs smoothly, and to improve the most important economic sector in Montenegro through responsible behavior," the statement reads.
