This morning, the Central Bank (CBCG) adopted decisions to introduce temporary administration in Atlas and IBM Bank, owned by businessman Duško Knežević.
"Decisions on the introduction of temporary administration were made on the basis of the results of controls previously carried out in Atlas and IBM Bank, which showed that the capital available to these banks does not correspond to the level of risk of their operations. Taking into account the established facts, the CBCG, in order to protection of depositors' interests and prevention of further deterioration of the financial situation in Atlas and IBM Bank, and acting in accordance with the Law on Banks, passed decisions on the introduction of temporary administration in the aforementioned banks," the statement reads.
CBCG employees with many years of experience in bank control were appointed as temporary managers in two banks.
The CBCG explained that the temporary administration is one of the corrective measures undertaken by the CBCG on the basis of the Law on Banks, with the aim of creating conditions for the elimination of established irregularities and the improvement of the financial situation in these banks.
"We expect that the upcoming measures of the interim administration will contribute to the recovery of the situation in Atlas and IBM Bank," the announcement reads.
