Internet magazine bosnjak.me, which was initiated by the Bosniak National Council, was used during the election campaign for the promotion of the Bosniak Party, and later for intra-party confrontations in Rafeto Husović's party. During the negotiations of the DPS with minority parties on the formation of a new government, the portal, among other things, transmitted a text from "Informer" in which BS official Orhan Šahmanović is accused of working under the instructions of the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). The text states, among other things, that Šahmanović demanded that BS negotiate with the opposition on the formation of a new government and that SDP officials Ranko Krivokapić and Džavid Šabović persuaded him to do so. After the Main Board of the Bosniak Party decided to enter into an alliance with the DPS, and Šahmanović accepted such a decision, the text from "Informer" was removed from the portal.
The Vice-President of BS and the President of the Bosniak National Council, Osman Nurković, who at the time was also the editor-in-chief of the portal, avoided answering the question of "Vijesti", which is why party announcements are published on the portal for the promotion of Bosniak culture.
"You will not arrange that for us. It will be a lot for you. You don't see much, you publish something positive about Bosniaks, the Bosniak party and culture," answered Nurković, who in the meantime was elected Minister of Transport.
The foundation of the Bošnjak.me portal was supported with 6.600 euros by the Fund for the Protection and Realization of Minority Rights of Montenegro, and Nurković was chosen as its editor. At that time, it was planned that the practical implementation of the portal would be carried out by the Bosniak National Council, of which Nurković is the president.
When asked if he considered himself to be in a conflict of interest because as a public official and a politically engaged person he edits a media outlet, Nurković then claimed that "it is not even in his mind" to promote the party's policy through the portal. He then said that he will promote cultural values, national identity, education and language, as well as scientists, writers, artists, athletes, and successful Bosniaks around the world.
Laws on media and conflict of interest did not address the issue of whether public officials can edit the media.
