The Center for Democratic Transition (CDT), in cooperation with the Environmental Movement "Ozone", organized the "Vote freely" campaign today in Nikšić, whose messages are "no shopping", "no blackmail", "once and for yourself".
"The idea of the campaign is to tell as many citizens as possible what their rights are, that no one can put pressure on them, blackmail them, that they are alone in the cabin that day, and that regardless of what happened before and what will happen after on that day they can vote freely, and who they will vote for is up to them," said CDT president Milica Kovačević.
In addition to field activities, according to Kovačević, activities are being carried out with state institutions that are responsible for conducting elections, as well as with political parties, and they expect their involvement to be as active as possible in the coming days, because the campaign messages represent the essence of legal provisions that treat criminal acts against electoral rights.
"What is new is the Viber public chat with the company Viber as a channel for information about the elections and it serves this purpose. Today, for example, we have the Minister of Internal Affairs, Goran Danilović, who will answer questions about the voter list," Kovačević said.
Aleksandar Perović, the director of "Ozone", said that they want to encourage citizens to use their constitutional and legal rights and that, as "responsible people, they influence those policies that will happen in the future".
"Considering that in the previous elections in Montenegro, it happened several times that various irregularities cast a different light on the elections and the entire process, we wanted to, by participating in this campaign, animate the citizens of Nikšić and contribute to everyone exercising their right to vote, to vote freely, with their convictions, based on those programs that according to them have the best solutions and to forget once and for all some, let's say so, maybe challenges that young democracies are facing," said Perović.
So far, the campaign has been implemented in Budva and Cetinje, and after Nikšić, it is moving to cities in the north of Montenegro.
