The specific period of parliamentary life that Kosovo is going through has a significant impact on the dynamics of changing the Constitution, by which the Montenegrin community would be included in that legal act, it was announced in the conversation of Montenegrin President Filipa Vujanović with the newly appointed Montenegrin ambassador to Kosovo, Ferhat Dinoš.

Vujanović, as announced by his cabinet, received Dinoša today for a final interview before assuming office.

"That is why, as a transitional period until the Constitution is changed, the Law on the Protection and Promotion of Communities and Their Members, which explicitly regulates the Montenegrin community, is a firm guarantee that the rights and interests of the Montenegrin community will be adequately protected in Kosovo," the meeting concluded.

As stated, Vujanović expressed the importance of substantial cooperation between the two neighboring countries in the field of maximum intensification of bilateral relations, with an emphasis on all aspects of economic cooperation, in the mutual interest of the citizens of Montenegro and Kosovo.

"The President pointed out that the conditions have been met for the two neighboring countries to exchange ambassadors, since the Montenegrin community in Kosovo is recognized by the Law on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Communities and Their Members, from December 2011, which was supported by all relevant Montenegrin subjects on Kosovo," the statement said.

As stated, on the basis of this support, the Strategy for the Integration and Affirmation of the Montenegrin Community in Kosovo was adopted, the drafting and implementation of which was supported by the Government of Kosovo by forming a Working Group for its implementation.

"Dinoša pointed out that he will be dedicated to the cooperation of the two countries, stressing his commitment to the affirmation of friendship and complete understanding in order to improve otherwise substantial relations between Montenegro and Kosovo," the statement added.
