The President of the Parliamentary Committee for the Reform of Electoral Legislation, Branimir Gvozdenović (DPS), is preparing to schedule a new session of that body whose fate is uncertain for now, because DF MPs refuse to return to it after the arrest of Nebojsa Medojević and the sentencing of Milan Knežević.

The board had just started working after it was formed, but took a two-week break.

Gvozdenović, otherwise the vice-president of the Assembly, talks about this in a letter to members of the working group, which "Vijesti" has access to.

He stated that "the activities of the committee for the further reform of electoral and other legislation are still taking place, regardless of the fact that they have not had a session for about 15 days".

"I didn't want to schedule a formal session of the Committee until we have consulted with all members this week," wrote the chairman of the committee, whose deputy position is covered by Strahinja Bulajić from the DF.

Gvozdenović informed the deputies that at the session of the Administrative Committee, the members of the Secretariat of the Committee have already been elected, who will provide professional, administrative and technical assistance.

"Communication with the ODIHR, the EU Delegation and the Venice Commission has been completed, and readiness for any type of assistance in future intensive cooperation has been expressed. Also, we are in the phase of receiving suggestions and proposals from Montenegrin state bodies and institutions, and we have sent additional letters to the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Court, from whom we expect suggestions and comments in the coming period," said the Chairman of the Committee.

He also delivered the documents to his colleagues, stating that it was research by the parliamentary Research Center.

He submitted an analysis of electoral legislation and best practices of the European Union, neighboring countries, ethical rules of conduct during the electoral process, and the like.

The fate of the Committee after the DF, due to the illegal imprisonment of Medojević and Knežević, is uncertain because the DF is not ready to return to it. Gvozdenović's deputy, Strahinja Bulajić, reiterated for "Vijesti" yesterday that the position of the DF is the same: "We have repeated that several times, we will not continue working in the Assembly until further notice, not even in the Committee," he said.

The other opposition parties that have representatives in the committee could not declare their participation in its work yesterday.
