DF today again at the Security Committee: On what basis is the Council accusing VDT and Katnić

"We expect the board to consider the assessments, the situation and the measures taken. First of all, we are interested in the grounds on which the Council unconstitutionally gave certain assessments and positions in that report," said Predrag Bulatović to "Vijesti".

The members of the opposition are interested in the basis of certain evaluations and positions in the report of the National Security Council from May this year, which states that the State Prosecutor's Office acts as the fourth branch of government and that the results in the fight against corruption and organized crime are poor because it does not it works fine.

Democrats Velizar Kaluđerović, DF's Predrag Bulatović, Andrija Mandić and Nebojša Medojević and SDP's Džavid Šabović will insist on this. Yesterday, they asked the President of the Security Committee to schedule a control hearing of Council President Milo Đukanović and Deputy Prime Minister, Council member Duško Marković, VDT Ivica Stanković and special prosecutor Milivoj Katnić.

DF MPs are returning to the Committee session today, after almost nine months of boycott. They left the committee because Snežana Jonica (SNP) was elected to the National Security Council, for which Darko Pajović (Positive) also voted.

"We expect the board to consider the assessments, the situation and the measures taken. First of all, we are interested on what unconstitutional basis the Council gave certain assessments and positions in that report," Predrag Bulatović told "Vijesti".

The initiator of the hearing is Kaluđerović, who, like Bulatović, does not publicly say what is written in the Council's report, except that he expresses concern about its content.

According to "Vijesti" information, in the council's report, the Government is suggested to prepare an amendment to the law, in order to reduce the jurisdiction of the prosecutors. Also, it is stated that the intelligence services and the Police Directorate are doing their best in the fight against corruption and organized crime, but that the prosecutors are holding them back. The opposition did not ask for the support of Jonica, who is the deputy president of the Committee and a member of the Council.
