Minority parties from the ruling coalition are ready to vote on the proposal of the DPS for the Speaker of the Parliament when he arrives. The head of the parliamentary club of the Bosniak Party, Almer Kalač, confirmed to radio Antena M that his party would vote for the candidate proposed by DPS in a possible agreement with Pozitivna.
"The president is elected from among the deputies, and I believe that the majority, again not all, but the vast majority would do the job exactly as it should," said Kalač.
The ruling party's proposal would also be supported by the Liberal Party.
"There are rumors that it could be someone from Pozitivna. Of course, the majority in the parliament will have to make a coalition agreement with the current majority. If all that is procedurally respected, we could support it, but of course not without a coalition agreement," said the leader of the party Andrija Popović.
Force MP Genci Nimanbegu reminded that the speaker of the parliament is proposed by at least 10 MPs and he must be one of the MPs.
"I don't see any reason not to elect a president. That function is very important. Everyone knows that, but perhaps the fact that, if the president of the state is prevented from performing that function, that responsibility is assumed by the president of the Assembly. So, The assembly must have a president and these are some things that must be respected in a democracy,'' said Nimanbegu.
