Training for monitoring the elections in Tivat, where electronic voter identification is being used for the first time, will begin next week, the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) announced. According to the latest data from the MEC, 11 thousand and 110 voters will vote in the elections, which will be distributed to 19 polling stations. The President of the MEC, Jovanka Laličić, clarified that ten days before the elections, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will deliver extracts from the voter lists and then they will know the exact number of voters. She told the MINA agency that she will finish the negotiations regarding an alternative power supply in the event of a power outage in the coming days. Laličić said that they asked Elektroprenos to establish permanent duty and increased control that day. According to her, given the nice weather and the fact that Tivat is not exposed to frequent power outages, they hope that everything will go well and that there will be no power outages. "That is, if there is a shorter one, the rules provide that then the classic identification of voters can continue, and that the electricity supply is quickly established after 15, 20 minutes so that it can continue in the normal course," Laličić added. She stated that the formation of electoral committees is underway and explained that the parties are obliged to nominate their candidates as members of those bodies, and those parties that have the right to do so should also appoint the presidents of the electoral committees. According to her, the parties are also obliged to appoint authorized representatives to the extended composition of the MEC and election committees. "Some parties have already done it, some we expect, we hope that by Monday, Tuesday we will have complete lists, make conclusions about the appointment of those members in front of all confirmed electoral lists, deliver it to the parties and during the next week we will start briefing the members and presidents of the election committees and authorized representatives", said Laličić. She said that the non-governmental organizations Center for Democratic Transition and the Network for the Affirmation of the Non-Governmental Sector have applied to monitor the elections. Laličić pointed out that the international organization OSCE also announced the monitoring of the elections. "We will inform them when there is a briefing and we hope that they will be present, and on the day of the election they will be their authorized representatives". She stated that she hopes that the parties will be careful about which people they put on election committees, especially for presidents. "I think that a special responsibility now rests with the presidents, but the MEC will try to repeat the briefings two or three times if we see that something remains unclear and we are available to explain everything to them," said Laličić.
