The Hague Tribunal's decision to acquit the president of the Serbian Radical Party, Vojislav Šešelj, on all nine counts of the indictment accusing him of inciting and supporting war crimes in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina with hate speech, is shameful and unexpected, the Bosniak Party announced.
"Releasing the charges causes injustice and deeply offends the families of the victims who lost their loved ones due to his crimes throughout Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. "The judgment of the Hague Court is completely surprising and unexpected for someone who is a promoter and inspirer of crimes during the war events in the early nineties," the BS statement states.
They expect an efficient and quick reaction from the prosecution in the appeal procedure, "believing that in the end there will be a revision of the verdict, after which Seselj will be adequately convicted and punished".
The Bosniak party expresses the hope that the countries of the region will have the strength to face the past and work to establish reconciliation between nations, said BS.
