The verdict against the former president of the Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadzic, represents a small part of justice served, but it confirms the existence of a joint criminal enterprise that was carried out in a planned and systematic manner in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian Party (BS) said.
That party welcomes the verdict of the Hague Tribunal, which sentenced Karadzic to 40 years in prison for genocide and other war crimes committed against Bosniaks, Croats and other non-Serbs.
"The Hague Tribunal ruled against the criminal and genocidal idea that ignited the whirlwind of war in the XNUMXs and committed numerous crimes and persecutions against innocent citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other states created by the breakup of Yugoslavia," BS said.
They believe that 40 years in prison for someone who is an ideologue of war and the orderer of crimes against the innocent population, including the genocide in Srebrenica, represents only partial satisfaction for the bereaved families.
"The verdict certainly serves as a warning to all those who are still carried away by ideas and goals based on the creation of large-scale state projects," says the BS announcement.
As stated, the states and societies of the former Yugoslavia, including Montenegro, must come to terms with the past, legally and adequately punish all criminals, and work on building bridges of reconciliation and cooperation between nations.
