The URA civic movement expects that the Social Democratic Party in Kotor will join the initiative of all opposition councilors to form a new majority in the Kotor Municipal Assembly and take over power from the DPS, announced URA councilor in Kotor Municipal Council Mladen Živković.
He stated that the councilors of URA, DF and SNP sent the initiative to SDP for the formation of a new majority in SO Kotor last Friday.
"We hope that we will receive an affirmative answer from the Social Democratic Party as soon as possible, without which DPS cannot have power in Kotor. The current Kotor government consists of DPS, SDP, LP and HGI. With the opposition, excluding one councilor from Pozitivna, SDP has the majority to vote mistrust of the existing government and forms a new one, which could prepare fair and free elections in our municipality. Since the SDP hesitates to launch this initiative, we decided to do it regardless of whether the vote in the local parliament will lead to a change of government or not. This is the period of masquerade balls and carnivals, so it's time for the possible masks of some councilors to fall. The citizens of Kotor have the right to know who is who in our parliament and which party they truly belong to. Better now than in the elections in October, when they could suddenly become so-called "independent candidates" with mandates of 4 next years and be the so-called "opposition", announced Živković.
In the URA, he added, they expect the SDP to accept the offered hand of the opposition in Kotor.
"And to show that Montenegro and Kotor are more important to them than functions and armchairs. We must put an end to the politics that destroys the country, that puts Montenegro in debt of a million euros a day, that leaves our coast and our heritage to the element of private interests of people from the top of the government... Here is an opportunity for us to start from Kotor," concluded Živković.
