The unstable political situation in Montenegro must be reflected in the dynamics of European integration, for which there was a political consensus, according to the Democratic People's Party (DNP).

DNP leader Milan Knežević and President of the Political Council Predrag Bulatović spoke at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia with the head of the Department for the Balkans Aleksandar Bocan-Harčenko and adviser at the Ministry of Defense Aleksandar Konuzin.

As reported by the DNP, Knežević, speaking about the current relations between Montenegro and Russia, emphasized once again "the perniciousness of the Montenegrin regime's decision to join the sanctions against our historical ally and proven patron".

He emphasized that Russia's countermeasures and the introduction of sanctions against Montenegro would most affect the Montenegrin people, economy and tourism, which, as he stated, depend on Russian tourists and further investments.

"The leader of the DNP also announced the position that (Prime Minister) Milo Đukanović would hardly wait for Russian sanctions in order to continue even more aggressively with the NATO campaign and anti-Russian hysteria," the announcement says.

Bulatović, as stated, informed his interlocutors about the current political situation in Montenegro, announcing the position of the Democratic Front that it will not participate in the reconstruction of the Government, which in a formal legal sense would represent the continuation of the Đukanović-Krivokapić coalition.

According to him, such a scenario, supported by certain political entities from the opposition, represents an ideal position for Đukanović, "who is not only planning another election theft, but in the offered platform eliminates any possibility of holding a referendum on Montenegro's membership in NATO".

"Bulatović also emphasized that such an unstable political situation must also be reflected in the dynamics of European integration, for which there was a political consensus, as the regime has already threatened relations with Russia with its unreasonable decisions," the announcement states.
