The President of the Rožaj Municipality, Ejup Nurković, intends to punish the local administration workers who attended the DPS New Year's cocktail party.
There are 39 workers on Nurković's list, which "Vijesti" had access to.
Several sources confirmed to "Vijesti" that the fines will be imposed after the superiors have interviewed the employees who were not at work on December 31. The DPS New Year's cocktail was held at 11 a.m., that is, during the working hours of employees in the local administration. The list does not include Nurković's closest associates, the vice-president of the Municipality Idriz Nurković and the manager Elvira Klica, although they can also be seen in the photos from the DPS celebration, published on Facebook.
Nurković did not answer the questions of "Vijesti" yesterday.
According to the minutes he signed, Nurković himself determined who was not at work at the time of the cocktail party. He allegedly visited all local government offices, public companies and institutions and compiled a list of 39 absentees.
According to "Vijesti" sources, Nurković ordered the bosses to take oral or written statements from the employees and decide on sanctions.
The president of the opposition DPS in Rožaj, Bećir Kalač, said that it is not the first time that Nurković exerts political pressure on workers and members of that party: "He uses the position he holds to demonstrate force and power. At the state level, they (Bosniak Party) want a coalition with us, and at the local level they condition our staff, which is neither ethical nor human...".
Kalač pointed out that the cocktail was organized during working hours, but that, as he says, December 31 is the day when people prepare for a celebration or a trip, which is why "one should be understanding for everything that does not endanger the interests of citizens".
