The Budva SDP got a new municipal board with 30 members. In the next seven days, a leader will be elected who will lead this opposition party in the Budva parliament, in preparation for the local elections.
Emphasizing that "when you finish the basic or pre-political issues - statehood, peace and stability, Krivokapić added that then come the real political issues" of citizens' lives, social justice, justice and decent work.
"When it comes to these issues, there is no division in Montenegro. There is only one Montenegro when it comes to these issues. It is called an individual, an individual who wants justice and a decent job. Who wants to see the perspective of life in Montenegro. That is the biggest challenge for all of us. He emphasized that the SDP will not be the one that quarrels and rules, but the one that collects to strengthen.
"The mission of the SDP is to restore harmony to Montenegro. Even when we fiercely differed on basic political issues, we were democrats. Social democrats who extended their hands, our goal was not to win, to defeat someone, the goal was to win The Montenegro we believed in, which, I hope, everyone now believes is the real Montenegro. Although we were capable of being leaders in state-building, reform and Euro-Atlantic integration, we are also capable of being leaders in building a European Montenegro." , Krivokapić pointed out.
According to him, the whole of Montenegro has never been united as it was around European integration.
"The EU unites Montenegro, it gives us the opportunity, finally, after many historical divisions, to be all on the same ideological side," he added.
Krivokapić said that justice is the foundation of the state.
"There are no differences regarding justice in Montenegro. We are at the door of NATO, another major goal that can divide us in an instant. Entry into security and stability will be successful if Montenegro is a country of justice for all. And the justice of the state is reflected in the strong, not the weak. As we sought freedom and justice for Montenegro, we must now find justice and freedom for every honest citizen in Montenegro and punishment for every dishonest one. And that will make it less important whether you are from the SDP or from the Democratic Front , of the SNP, because we will all be the same before the law. Boasting that the party in Budva managed to maintain unity, the leader of the Budva SDP, Mihailo Đurović, assessed that it was not easy for the social democrats in Budva in the previous ten years.
"The SDP in Budva, as a political entity that participated in the government since 2005, went through a period of high political instability. We focused our political activity on quality participation in the work of the local self-government. Managing the city to the extent of our political strength, we tried to find the first responses to the transition processes and the phenomena they bring with them. Working with dedication, we hoped for the best. However, there were mistakes in the early stages. During the first affairs, which shook Budva, although in the coalition government, we found the courage to publicly send clear words criticisms and create independent views and visions of problem solving. We believe that we have achieved measurable results and succeeded in preventing and mitigating several attacks on public resources from our partners. That is why we were respected to obstruct development.
