The Democratic People's Party (DNP) called on the Montenegrin Government to lift the sanctions against Russia, and thus, as they announced, end its servility towards the United States of America (USA).
As reported by that party, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced a round of possible new economic sanctions for a number of countries, among which Montenegro can be found.
"That's why the DNP calls on the Government to lift the sanctions against Russia, and thereby end its sad servility towards the USA", said the official of the DNP, Dragan Koprivica.
He said that the duplicity of the regime in Montenegro is transferred to the official policy of the Government, but that, in his opinion, it is a shocking fact that the Government boasts of cooperation with the Russian Federation, which it "rudely and inhumanely" imposed sanctions on.
"And she didn't have to introduce them, because, unlike Montenegro, Serbia did not behave obediently, but refused that heinous act on principle and preserved the dignity of a serious and principled state," said Koprivica.
In the information on cooperation with the most important countries in the world, the Government of Montenegro, as he stated, kept silent about its move to flatter the West at the expense of Russia.
As Koprivica added, the government also emphasized Montenegro's determination to maintain good and friendly relations with that country in all important spheres through political dialogue.
To impose sanctions on someone and at the same time cultivate realistic optimism about the continuation of cooperation, it is possible, as Koprivica said, only thanks to the Government of Montenegro and its way of thinking.
"Such double standards of the Government and the Prime Minister represent a blatant example of calculating actions, along with a transparent and hypocritical desire to sit quietly on two chairs without remorse. To rudely turn their backs on an old friend when they shouldn't, and from that same friend they still ask for favors, understanding and a pat on the back," the DNP press release states.
As they said from that party, the importance of tourism was apostrophized in the information of the Government, where, as they stated, the Russian market is still of the greatest importance for the economy of Montenegro.
"Neither American, nor Western European, but Russian. The government is thus obviously inviting Russian tourists to come here in even greater numbers as a sign of recognition for the sanctions imposed on Montenegro," the announcement states.
The DNP said that the fact that official Montenegro directly aligned itself against Russia in the world framework will be an additional stimulus for the government.
"If it is from the Government of Montenegro, this kind of replacement of theses, and pushing the international problem under the carpet, is extremely transparent and frivolous," the DNP said.
From that party, they concluded that sanctions can bring the most damage to Montenegrin citizens, "and all because of a circle of gamblers from the government, who are gambling with the peace and prosperity of this country."
